Hi, I’m Lolly and I’m the author of Lolly’s Sweet & Savory Treats. My real name is actually Laurel, but my family members and childhood friends have been calling me Lolly for as long as I can remember. I live in the heart of Ohio Amish Country in Walnut Creek with my wonderful husband, Robert, our ornery toddler, Smith, and our loyal chocolate lab, Athena.  In addition to raising my family, I am a licensed physical therapist and I find it incredibly rewarding helping people improve their functional mobility.

I started Lolly’s Sweet & Savory Treats in 2011 while Robert and I were DINKs (dual income-no kids) living in Columbus. It began as a way to foster my hobbies of baking, cooking, food photography, and writing. However, now that we live in the country and have a young child, it has evolved into a blog about feeding our family, living in Amish country, and my attempts at homestead living.

Eating is such a central part of our lives and it is always my goal to make more food from scratch, use high quality ingredients, limit the amount of processed and pre-packaged food our family consumes, and enjoy the process along the way. It’s not always easy, but it’s always satisfying creating nutritious and delicious food with one’s own hands.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will join me in our culinary and life adventures.
